Lillie Lucille ‘Lou” Hausser, 93, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, at The Manor.
Lou was born on Sept. 22, 1928, in Stone Fort, Illinois, to Ira and Lillie (Mitchell) Phillips. She was married to John Marion Henshaw, who preceded her in death. Lou later married Mariam Hausser, who also preceded her in death.
Over the years, Lou worked in a lamp factory, a jewelry store and cleaned houses but her most beloved profession was as an ordained minister. Lou loved serving The Lord and shared His Gospel with anyone who would listen. She was a member of Northpoint Church of the Nazarene. Lou enjoyed singing and attending Bible study but her most treasured moments were time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and her daily devotional time alone with God.
Lou is survived by four grandchildren, Debra Shafer, James Leslie Henshaw, Jr., Jacklyn Lucille Dukes and Bobbie Vadel Henshaw, 10 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great grandchildren; a brother Herschel Phillips, two sisters, JoAnn Jett and Carol Groves; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ira Phillips, her mother, Lillie Mitchel Phillips Evans, her husbands, a son James Henshaw, Sr., and four brothers, Robert, Edward, Richard and Alvin Phillips.
The visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Northpoint Church of the Nazarene with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. The Rev. Greg Gilberto will officiate. A graveside service will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bolton Trammel Cemetery in Stone Fort, Illinois.
