The Poplar Bluff High School band earned numerous exemplary ratings this month at the Missouri District Solo and Ensemble Festival held on the Three Rivers campus.

Students and groups who scored a (1) exemplary rating will move on to compete at the state level in Columbia later this month.

Percussion director Andrew Cook said the students’ successes are due to “the hard work, dedication, and drive for excellence that this group of students continues to impress me with.” He and band director Stephen Winters said they are “extremely proud of the way these kids performed and supported each other” before and after the competition.

Groups and solos earning a (1) exemplary rating:

Percussion ensemble #1: Hannah Spencer, Jase Long, Julie Buckelew, Abby Hager, Jack Funke, Macy Odom, Kameron Glick and Cooper Hornbeck.

Percussion ensemble #2: Emma Harris, Aubrea Morrow, Hannah Spencer, Chris Simpson, Abby Hager, Julie Buckelew, Kameron Glick and Cooper Hornbeck.
