Congressman Jason Smith and state legislators Hardy Billington and Jason Bean visited Neelyville R-IV March 11, and toured both the elementary and high school on the Neelyville campus with the Neelyville Administrative Team.

“It’s always a treat to visit with southern Missouri students, and this visit was no exception,” stated Rep. Smith. “The elementary school kids had prepared a special performance, and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing them sing. After seeing what’s happening in Neelyville, I can say for sure that the future is bright in Butler County.”

Neelyville R-IV Superintendent Debra Parish said the third-sixth graders sang the patriotic song “Mighty United,” which they sang for the Veterans Day Program.

The NHS Lady Tigers Basketball Team always sing the National Anthem at their home games.

“They sang for our guests,” Parish said. “The state legislators invited them to sing the anthem at the State Capitol before school is out. The girls are ecstatic.”
