Brenna Colyott reported at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, that a laptop computer and a rifle were stolen from her vehicle while it was parked in front of her residence in the 900 block of Harper Street.

Hosea Robinson, no age or address given, was arrested at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, in the 100 block of South Fifth Street on a Dunklin County failure to appear warrant for possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

A pistol was found lying on the ground in the 800 block of North Main Street at 3:19 p.m. Tuesday, March 15. The weapon was seized and placed into evidence pending further investigation.

Rick’s 66 owner LeAnn Hendrix reported at 6:59 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, that someone in a pickup dumped trash in the store’s dumpster. The suspect was contacted and criminal charges are under review.

Officers were dispatched to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center at 7:03 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, for a gunshot injury. The victim told officer he accidentally shot himsef as he sat in his car in a parking lot on Highway 53. The investigation continues.

Officers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of Illinois Avenue at 7:14 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, to a call of a juvenile flourishing a knife. The juvenile surrendered the weapon prior to officer arrival and the matter was referred to the Butler County Juvenile Office.

Jerime Edwards, 38, Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, in the 2100 block of Spring Street on suspicion of third degree domestic assault. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

Dakota A. Dushuanack, 24, of Poplar Bluff was booked at the Butler County jail Tuesday, March 15, on a warrant for operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid license.

Jewell R. Johnson, 43, of Poplar Bluff was booked at the Butler County jail Tuesday, March 15, on a capias warrant.

Sharieka S. Taylor, 33, of Poplar Bluff was booked at the Butler County jail Tuesday, March 15, on a failure to appear warrant for no registration.

Dwane A. Walker, 59, of Fredericktown was booked at the Butler County jail Tuesday, March 15, to serve four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Poplar Bluff Firefighters responded at 8:16 a.m. Friday, March 11, to 1412 Meadowbrook Lane to a possible carbon monoxide exposure, according to fire reports. Spire Gas Company and Butler County EMS also responded, but according to fire departments, no exposure was found and the residents were asked to contact their alarm company.

According to reports, firefighters responded at 10:41 a.m. Friday, March 11, to Shady Grove State School, 2400 High St., to someone trapped in the bathroom. Firefighters used hand tools to force open the door.

Firefighters responded at 1:48 p.m. and at 2:39 p.m. Friday, March 11, and again at 2:51 p.m. Saturday, March 12, to Empire Comfort Systems, 2450 S. 11th St., to an alarm system malfunction, according to fire reports. The company is contacting its alarm company.

According to reports, firefighters responded at 11:09 p.m. Saturday, March 12, to 832 Poplar St. for an electrical fire in a cook stove. The occupant had extinguished the fire, but firefighters moved the stove outside the structure and forced the oven door open and extinguished the remaining fire with 2 gallons of water.

According to reports, firefighters responded at 9:12 a.m. Sunday, March 13, to East Pine Street and Washington Avenue to a motor vehicle accident. Both vehicles had been moved and the fire crew cleaned up the gas run off.

City firefighters responded to at 11:35 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, to a structure fire at 2329 Leonard St. Firefighters used 600 gallons of water in putting out the fire. All the occupants were out of the house with fire crews arrived. Skyler Reid is listed as the owner. The state fire marshal was called.

City firefighters responded at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, to unit 301 at 508 Hazel St, to a cooking fire. The fire was contain when firefighters arrived. Ralph Jackson had been boiling tea when the water dissipated causing the smoke alarm to go off.

City firefighters used 20 gallons of water to put out a grass fire at North Riverview Drive and Washington street at 2:44 p.m. Tuesday, March 15.

City firefighters responded at 3:13 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, to a controlled burn at 2909 Oak Grove Road. Fire crews made contract with the property owner who was out with the fire.

City firefighters responded to a smoke scare at 8:14 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at 2406 Baugh Lane. Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to make certain there was no fire. Owner is Paul Davis.

BUTLER COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT

Butler County firefighters responded at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, to a grass fire at 273 County Road 466. The fire burned a small area owned by Norma Prim.
