Carolyn “Renee” Taylor, 53, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away March 10, 2022, at her home in Poplar Bluff. Renee was born Oct. 25, 1968 to Calvin Rutherford and Shirley Reeves. She married Tommy Taylor in which they shared over 25 years of marriage, in which they shared three beautiful children...

Carolyn “Renee” Taylor, 53, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away March 10, 2022, at her home in Poplar Bluff.

Renee was born Oct. 25, 1968 to Calvin Rutherford and Shirley Reeves. She married Tommy Taylor in which they shared over 25 years of marriage, in which they shared three beautiful children.

Renee was a retired LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) in which she served our local veterans at John J. Pershing Medical Center. Renee earned her Master’s degree from St. Louis University in which she devoted her life for caring for our Veterans.

Renee loved her family with all of her heart, she enjoyed watching her children grow. She was their biggest fan at all the girls’ gymnastic and cheerleading competitions, Sarah-Beth’s softball tournaments, as well as watching Ryan’s wrestling matches, football and baseball games as well as watching him ride in his bull riding events.

Renee was a devote Baptist Christian who loved the Lord, as she taught the kids Awana Class for several years.

Renee is survived by her spouse, Tommy Taylor of the home; two daughters, Rachael and Sarah-Beth Taylor of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Wendy and her husband, Lee Ray Pickrell, of Ellsinore; mother, Shirley Reeves of Poplar Bluff; father, Calvin Rutherford of Truman, Arkansas; father and mother-in-law, Bud and Evelyn Taylor of Poplar Bluff; sister-in-law, Theresa Woods and her husband, Terry Woods, of Poplar Bluff; two nieces, Callee Pickrell of Naylor, Haleigh Taylor of Poplar Bluff; three nephews, Brice and Zack Taylor of Poplar Bluff, and Cody (Markie) Pickrell of Doniphan; also her special canine companion and “other son,” Cooper.

Renee was preceded by her son Ryan Taylor, stepmother Joan Rutherford, father-in-law Tom Taylor Sr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 17, 2022, from noon until the time of service at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral service to follow beginning at 1 p.m. with Jim Osborn officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
