JACKSON, Mo. — Gary L. Bomar, 75, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He was born April 7, 1946, to H.O. and Willie Isabelle (Tindall) Bomar in Parma, Missouri. He was a 1964 graduate of Bernie High School in Bernie, Missouri. JACKSON, Mo. — Gary L. Bomar, 75, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born April 7, 1946, to H.O. and Willie Isabelle (Tindall) Bomar in Parma, Missouri. He was a 1964 graduate of Bernie High School in Bernie, Missouri. He and Jeanine Johnson were married Aug. 2, 1969, at the Second General Baptist Church in Dexter, Missouri.

Gary was a medic in the Missouri Army National Guard in Bernie. He was discharged Sept. 6, 1971, serving honorably for six years.

Gary worked 28 years at Procter & Gamble.

Gary loved God, family, country. He enjoyed deer hunting during rifle season and was a huge fan of NASCAR. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, the NRA, and White Tails Unlimited.

Loving survivors include his wife of 52 years, Jeanine Bomar of Jackson; six children, Scott (Allison) Bomar of Jackson, Candi (Tim) Nelson of Scott City, Shannon (Mariah) Bomar, Sean Bomar, Shane (Renee) Bomar, and Jared (Amanda) Bomar, all of Jackson; a brother, Bill Bomar of Dexter; 20 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Paige Bomar.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022, at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Bernie City Cemetery where military rites will be performed.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Fruitland Area Fire Protection District.
