Filing opened Tuesday for the Aug. 2 primary election of U.S. representative, state senator, state representative and other state offices. The winners of the primary election will move on to the Nov. 8 election.

Offices currently contested include: U.S. representative for District 8. Uncontested primary races include state representatives for districts 144, 150 and 152. Information was reported as of 4 p.m. by the Missouri Secretary of State’s office.

Filing for the primary elections will remain open until March 29 for state and county offices.

Candidates who had filed as of 4 p.m. for the following offices are:

Chris Dinkins of Lesterville (incumbent)

(Includes portions of Dunklin and Pemiscot counties)

Cameron Bunting Parker of Malden

Incumbent Andrew McDaniel (R-Deering) is prevented from running again by term limits.
