POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded at 7:14 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, to a report of a structure fire at 306 Gum Street. On arrival, they found a blanket on fire in the living room floor of the vacant home and used 20 gallons of water to put the fire out.

Firefighters responded at 4:01 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, to a reported structure fire at 524 Henderson Ave. They discovered someone had started a fire to stay warm but had fled once firefighters arrived. They used five gallons of water to put the fire out.

Firefighters responded at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, to a reported unauthorized burn on South F Street. They found a man living in a shed at the intersection of Plum and F streets who had started a fire. Firefighters used five gallons of water to put the fire out.

Firefighters were dispatched to 3050 Tucker Road at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, for a water flow alarm. They worked with business maintenance personnel to get the system back up and running.

Firefighters responded to a call at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, of a possible electrical fire at the 840 N. Fifth St. home occupied by Barbara Nelson. They found basement flue pipes were loose and were allowing smoke to infiltrate into the home.

Firefighters responded at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, to an alarm at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center - Westwood Campus. It was investigation only.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Bobby J. Cooper, 45, of the 5000 block of Nellie Sue Circle was arrested at 10:08 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, on suspicion of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle. He was processed at the police station and released.

BUTLER COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT

County firefighters responded at 11:51 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, to a grass fire at 7944 Highway C. A small area burned.

County firefighters responded at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, to a woods fire at 1897 Monument Lane. A small area burned.

County firefighters responded at 5:57 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, to a mobile home fire at 4715 Highway B. The home was unoccupied and had no services, and the fire damaged one room.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Jeffery Massey, 51, of Sikeston was arrested at 3:35 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, in Stoddard County on suspicion of DWI (alcohol), speeding and failure to wear a seat belt. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail on a 24-hour hold.

Austin R. Turner, 22, of Dexter was arrested at 6:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, in Butler County on a Butler County felony warrant for larceny. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Victoria K. Quick, 66, of Wappapello was arrested at 10:38 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, in Stoddard County on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine. She was booked at the Stoddard County jail on a 24-hour hold.
