POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters were dispatched at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, to a reported unauthorized fire at 821 Cedar St. Upon arrival, they found a trash fire behind the apartments and used 20 gallons of water to put it out.
BUTLER COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT
County firefighters responded at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, to a grass fire at 12223 Highway 160. About one acre of the property owned by Bill West burned.

Joshua A. Moore, 33, of the 150 block of County Road 5591 was arrested at 9:01 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Probation and Parole on a parole violation warrant for third-degree domestic assault. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL
Two people sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, on Wayne County Road 523, two miles north of Wappapello.
According to the report, Adam E. Huff, 32, of Wappapello was operating a 2006 Dodge Caravan northbound when it ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Huff and a 12-year-old male passenger were taken by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Gregory A. Brunelle, 60, of Wappapello was arrested at 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, on Wayne County failure to appear warrants for felony possession of a controlled substance and no driver’s license. He was booked at the Wayne County jail.

Ronald D. Burgess, 37, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 5:38 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, in New Madrid County on suspicion of DWI, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and no seat belt. He was released.
