QULIN, Mo. — Edward McMeans, 89, of Qulin, Missouri, died Sunday, Jan.30, 2022 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, in Poplar Bluff.
Mr. McMeans was born Feb. 17, 1932 to the late Cecil and Margie McMeans. He loved coon hunting and won many trophies over the years that he was very proud of. He also enjoyed gardening with his wife. They loved to have a big garden and Ed always wanted to share as much as he could with others, especially the tomatoes! He also enjoyed going to coffee shops with his coon hunting buddies.
Ed was a devoted husband for over 65 years to his wife, Virginia (Fisher) McMeans. They were united in marriage on March 24, 1956. She survives. Also surviving is one brother-in-law: Leonard (Arlene) Fisher; one sister-in-law: Inez Woods; several nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three siblings: Elmo Hopgood, C.L. McMeans, and Mattie Bell, and one brother-in-law: Ralph Fisher.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022 at Oglesville General Baptist Church in Qulin. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Randy Wiseman officiating. Burial will be at Qulin Cemetery in Qulin.
