PIEDMONT — A 25-year-old man was killed in a one vehicle accident early Saturday morning in Wayne County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Grant H. Bell, 25, of Patterson was operating a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado at 5 a.m. Saturday northbound on Highway 34, four miles south of Piedmont, when it ran off the right side of the road and overcorrected. Bell’s truck then ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree, ejecting Bell from the truck.
Bell was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:28 a.m. by Wayne County Coroner Mike Allen. His body was transported by Allen to Ruegg Funeral Home. Bell is the second fatality in Troop E this year.
