Joyce Mae Muse, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, went peacefully to her heavenly home Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, surrounded by family.
Mrs. Muse was born Sept. 4, 1941 in Malden, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Elton Tole and Nadine Sudbury.
She was a member of New Home General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff for nearly 40 years. Joyce was a prayer warrior and loved everyone. She took on a motherly role in the lives of everyone who crossed her path. She enjoyed bowling and going fishing with her man! She will be deeply missed and everyone looks forward to the day when they are greeted by her in Heaven with her famous “Hi, hon!”
On June 18, 1960, she married the love of her life, Bobby Muse. He preceded her in death March 23, 2021.
She is survived by five children: Vicki (Darryl) French of Poplar Bluff, Carol Muse of Poplar Bluff, Dena (Scott) Rawson of Nixa, Missouri, Robbie Muse of Harviell, Missouri and Nalynn (Craig) Hillis, of Qulin, Missouri, 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; one special brother: David (Debbie) Tole, and one sister: Kathy (Lonnie) Ward, both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her loving husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Bobby Gene Muse, and two sisters: Diane Long and Brenda Tole.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022 at New Home General Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Justin Benefiel officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
