Born and raised in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Lisa quickly took to her mother Lettye’s passion for music. Lisa was an extremely talented musician who played piano and guitar, sang and wrote beautiful music, and loved to perform on stage. Lisa also loved being outdoors in nature. One of her favorite places was the Current River in Doniphan, Missouri. She spent many hours there with friends and family as a young musician, searching for inspiration and meaning to songs and life. In her early adult life, she discovered a passion for real estate, got her license, and worked hard as a single mom to support herself, Adam, and Leah. Her love for music and her sister Lyn’s residency in Texas, led her to live much of her adult life there. In Texas, she continued to raise her children and ran an office for a successful contracting company. Throughout her life, Lisa always found a way to express herself through her talents as an artist. Acting on both stage and film, Lisa recently made the big screen with a speaking role in the feature film Shakespeare’s Mummy and will forever be listed among other famous actors on IMDb.
Lisa is most known for her love for life, vivacious personality and fighting spirit. This was most evident as she battled COPD during the last few years of her life. She fought hard until the very end.
Friends and family will gather at Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, at 11 a.m. June 11. The family will then honor Lisa’s wishes by holding a Celebration of Life ceremony on the Current River. This will be her final resting place.
