An employee of Munch-n-Pump at 2605 Township Line Road reported at 1:54 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, that someone stole merchandise and cash worth more than $500.

A resident of the 30 block of County Road 5351 reported at 12:24 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, that his/her vehicle had been stolen sometime around New Year’s Day.

Brian L. Casey, 39, of the 1000 block of Lester Street was booked Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Butler County jail on a failure to appear warrant for stealing and a warrant for possession of a controlled substance. He later was released.

David A. Jones, 54, of St. Louis was booked Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Butler County jail on a failure to appear warrant for fourth-degree domestic assault.

Devon L. Williams, 25, of the 2600 block of Russell Street was booked Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Butler County jail on a parole violation warrant.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Randy Foster reported at 10:52 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, that he was struck in the face by an unknown person while standing on his own property in the 1200 block of North Fifth Street.

Robert R. Rasmussen, 26, of the 800 block of Cedar Street was arrested at the intersection of Mill and Maud streets on a Butler County failure to appear warrant for stealing and a Poplar Bluff failure to appear warrant for stealing. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Jason L. Faughn, 35, of the 3100 block of South Westwood Boulevard was arrested on South 11th Street on a Butler County failure to appear warrant for first-degree burglary. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

A resident of the 1700 block of Kentucky Avenue reported at 4:19 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, that someone had dumped several bags of trash on his/her property.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters were dispatched at 6:11 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, to the area of Davis and Garfield streets, where smoke was reported. Upon arrival, they found leaves burning in a ditch and used 10 gallons of water to put the fire out.

Firefighters responded at 3:31 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, to a reported unauthorized burn at 204 N. Eighth St. They found the occupant, Helena McLaughlin, was burning trash beside the residence and notified her about the city’s burning ordinance. She then put the fire out.

BUTLER COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT

County firefighters responded at 5:08 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, to a report of a strong smoke smell on Fourth Street in Fisk. Upon investigation, it was determined to be a controlled burn.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

An 86-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at the roundabout intersection of highways 25 and 77 south of Dutchtown.

According to the report, Mildred J. Carson, 86, of Bloomfield was operating a 2005 Dodge Caravan northbound when it ran off the road and struck a curb at the roundabout, disabling her vehicle.

Carson was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Travis D. Burnett, 35, of Bernie was arrested at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, in Stoddard County on suspicion of misdemeanor DWI and failure to obey the posted speed limit (105 MPH in a 65 zone). He was released to a sober driver.

Stanley B. Ward, 67, of Broseley was arrested at 6:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, in Butler County on suspicion of DWI, driving while suspended, no seat belt and no insurance. He was booked at the Butler County jail on a 12-hour hold.
