Charles House of the 700 block of Highway AA reported at 9:12 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, that a boat had been stolen from his property.

Deputies responded to a reported assault at 9:23 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, in the 4800 block of County Road 276. The victim reported an unknown person punched her in the side of the head and fled the scene.

Three chainsaws were reported stolen at 8:37 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, from a parking lot at the Ozark Border Electric Cooperative, 3281 S. Westwood Blvd. The suspect appeared to have cut the fence to gain access to the truck which was holding the chainsaws.

A customer of Poplar Bluff Climate Controlled Storage in the 5000 block of Nelly Sue Circle reported at 5:58 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, that when he went to check on his storage unit, he found the padlock was missing and one item was taken from inside.

Donald W. Cooper, 62, of the 70 block of County Road 527 was booked Monday, Jan. 3, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of armed criminal action, second-degree domestic assault, first-degree property damage and resisting arrest.

Ernest J. Yandell, 61, of Neelyville was booked Monday, Jan. 3, at the Butler County jail on a failure to appear warrant for driving while revoked.

POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded at 2:42 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, to a report of sparks coming from an electrical outlet at the 1925 Iowa home occupied by Annotonette Davis. It was investigation only.

Firefighters responded at 12:17 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, to a structure fire at the 441 W. Midland St. home occupied by Mary Hayes and Michael Diggs. Upon arrival, flames were showing from one side of the home and firefighters made entry from that side. They used 500 gallons of water to put the fire out and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. Municipal Utilities and Spire Gas were notified. An occupant reported smoking in bed and falling asleep, causing the bedding to catch fire.

Firefighters responded at 12:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, to a motor vehicle crash at 400 E. Pine St. They checked for injuries but found none.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Mikal D. Morris, 25, of the 900 block of N. Main St. was arrested at 10:28 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3 on a Carter County warrant for no insurance. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Lance T. Whitehorn, 35, of the 1100 block of Benton Street was arrested at 2:32 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, on failure to appear warrants for stealing and trespassing, a Dexter warrant for a traffic offense and two probation violation warrants for non-support. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Vanessa A. Powell, 25, of the 1400 block of Lynn Road was arrested at 3:50 P.M. Monday, Jan. 3, on suspicion of forgery. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Damien S. Helton, 22, of Dexter was arrested at 1:39 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, in New Madrid County on a Scott County failure to appear warrant for dangerous drugs, a Miner Police Department failure to appear warrant for careless & imprudent driving, a Scott City failure to appear warrant for driving while revoked and on suspicion of no seat belt. He was booked at the New Madrid County jail.

Dakota R. Wyrick, 25, of Corning, Arkansas was arrested at 11:17 p.m. in Butler County on an Arkansas parole violation warrant for felony possession of a controlled substance, a Butler County failure to appear warrant for trespassing and on suspicion of no insurance, no seat belt and no operator’s license. He was booked at the Butler Coiunty jail.
