Nelva Stenger, 86, of Campbell passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022 at Poplar Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Nelva, daughter of Forest C. and Almeda M. Smith Horton, was born on Friday, Dec. 6, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was a retired LPN and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of Poplar Bluff.
On Aug. 30, 1952 in Pocahontas. Arkansas, she was united in marriage to John Stenger. He survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Alice Stenger Noall of Campbell; two daughters-in-law, Kim Whitefield Stenger and Maria Stenger; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, John Forest Stenger, Fred Stenger; two brothers, Roland Horton, Robert Horton; four sisters, Jane Christian, Ruth Mace, Audrey Custer and Joyce Glassey.
Visitation will begin at noon on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell with funeral service beginning at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
