A Campbell woman was killed and several other people sustained serious injuries in a quartet of southeast Missouri accidents that occurred between Thursday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. A Campbell woman was killed and several other people sustained serious injuries in a quartet of southeast Missouri accidents that occurred between Thursday afternoon and Saturday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Jessica N. Cochran, 40, of Campbell was killed at 12:25 p.m. Thursday when her southbound 2013 Chrysler 200 crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2019 GMC G3500 operated by Charles J. Owens, 32, of Paragould, Arkansas.

The accident occurred on Highway 53, seven miles north of Campbell. Cochran was pronounced dead at the scene by Dunklin County coroner James Towell at 12:51 p.m. Thursday and was transported by Towell to the Dunklin County morgue. She was the 60th vitality in Troop E in 2021.

Owens sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

The second accident occurred Friday at 7:40 p.m. on Highway 60, one mile west of Fremont. Torrington L. Marks, 26, of Sikeston was operating a 2010 Dodge Charger eastbound when it traveled off the roadway, struck a highway sign and an embankment, ejecting the driver. Marks sustained serious injuries and was transported by West Carter Ambulance to PBRMC.

At 9:15 p.m. Friday, Ehren E. McDaniel, 43, of Doniphan was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche southbound on Highway 160, one mile east of Doniphan when it ran off the roadway and struck a ditch. McDaniel sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to PBRMC.

The final accident occurred at 2:40 p.m. Saturday on Highway 105, one-half mile north of East Prairie. Mistavia M. Murray, 18, of Charleston was operating a northbound 2008 Dodge Charger when it crossed the center of the roadway and was struck by a southbound 1991 Ford F150 operated by Franklin R. Skinner, 29, of East Prairie. Skinner and two passengers in his truck, Jessie E. Wasson, 51, of Bernie and Ashley D. Carlyle, 34, of Cape Girardeau sustained serious injuries. None of them were wearing their seat belts.

Skinner and Carlyle both were transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, while Wasson was transported by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
