Vincent E. McGraw, 56, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, was booked Thursday, Dec. 16, at the Butler County jail on a failure to appear warrant for stealing.
POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters were dispatched at 6:29 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, to an unauthorized burn in the 700 block of Price Street. Upon arrival, they found an unauthorized fire behind the 741 Price Street home owned by Joan Johnson. They told the resident about the city’s burn ordinance and the homeowner put the fire out.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at Walgreens, 110 N. Westwood Blvd., at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16. A rooftop unit, which had just been worked on, had malfunctioned and shut itself off. Firefighters told the manager to have it repaired before returning it to service.

Firefighters were dispatched at 11:04 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, to Hucks, 703 N. Westwood Blvd., for a possible fuel leak. It was investigation only.

Firefighters responded to a call at 9:41 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, reporting a gas odor at Unity Academy, 1801 W. Maud St. It was investigation only.

Firefighters were dispatched at 8:17 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, to a possible structure fire at the 1502 Bethel St. home occupied by Joshua Reed. They used 200 gallons of water to put the fire out and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. A positive pressure ventilation fan was set up, while Municipal Utilities, Spire Gas and the State Fire Marshal all were called to the scene.
MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL
A 42-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, on Highway M, three miles east of Holcomb.
According to the report, Matthew D. Drewery, 42, of Campbell was operating a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer northbound when it ran off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.
Drewery was transported by ambulance to Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas.

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, on Highway 21, two miles south of Ellington.
According to the report, Dalton C. Buckner, 20, of Ellington was operating a 2011 GMC Sierra southbound when it struck a southbound 1998 Mitsubishi Montero operated by John R. Cook, 62, of Ellington. Buckner’s vehicle then overturned, while Cook’s vehicle struck a guardrail.
Cook sustained moderate injuries, while Buckner and a passenger in his vehicle, Carl A. Lodge, 33, of Ellington, sustained minor injuries. All three refused medical treatment at the scene.

Edward A. Walls, 65, of Clubb was arrested at 8:28 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, in Wayne County on a Wayne County warrant for felony possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at the Wayne County jail.
