Walker, 42, who listed Nine Street, Lester Street and Thomas Street addresses, was arrested at 1:41 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, on Selma Street on a St. Francois County failure to appear warrant for dangerous drugs and a Butler County failure to appear warrant for stealing. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Shawn T. Vega, 33, of the 800 block of Cherry Street was arrested at 3:38 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at his residence on a parole violation warrant for possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

Staff at Bluff Tax & Accounting in the 200 block of Ferguson Street reported at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, that someone had broken into the business during the previous night and went through filing cabinets. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Joseph M. Gilmore, 51, of Dexter was arrested at 9:58 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, in Stoddard County on suspicion of DWI, driving while revoked and speeding. He was released.

Trevor J. Cook, 19, of Ellington was arrested at 5:20 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, in Reynolds County on suspicion of DWI, careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash and no valid operator’s license. He was released to a sober party.

A 39-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash at 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, on Interstate 55, seven miles south of Steele.
According to the report, Matthew J. Frias, 39, of Sikeston was operating a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 southbound when it ran off the right side of the roadway and struck the rear of a parked and unoccupied 2019 Freightliner tractor-trailer.
Frias was pronounced dead at the scene by Pemiscot County coroner Jim Brimhall at 8:57 a.m. Friday.
Frias is the 54th fatality in Troop E this year.
