Firefighters were dispatched at 11:54 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, to a reported smoke alarm sounding at the Family Counseling Center, 3001 Warrior Lane. Building maintenance crews were soldering copper lines nearby, which set off the alarm. It was taken offline until maintenance work was complete.

Firefighters responded at 12:41 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, to a report of a smoke smell inside 1925 Iowa. Upon arrival, they found no smoke. Firefighters also used a gas meter to check for the presence of gas but found none. EMS was called to check on an occupant who was incoherent.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Kalena T. Kinnamore, 29, of Ellsinore was arrested at 2:22 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Walmart Supercenter on suspicion of stealing, a Dexter warrant for a traffic offense and a Doniphan warrant for a traffic offense. She was booked at the Butler County jail.

Kevin E. Graff, 37, of Neelyville was arrested at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Walmart Supercenter on suspicion of stealing. He was booked at the Butler County jail.

BUTLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT

Jason W. Banks, 47, of Wappapello was booked Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Butler County jail on an Arkansas parole violation warrant and a warrant for resisting arrest.

Amber N. Carlton, 33, of the 180 block of Windy Ridge Circle was booked Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Butler County jail on a warrant for stealing. She later was released.

Jeremy D. Criteser, 41, of the 400 block of D Street was booked Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Butler County jail on a St. Francois County failure to appear warrant for DWI. He later was released.

Shawn W. Leroux, 42, of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, was booked Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the Butler County jail on suspicion of possession of marijuana and on a Franklin County failure to appear warrant for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He later was released.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL

Heath G. Wibbenmeyer, 39, of St. Louis was arrested at 4:02 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, in Wayne County on suspicion of felony possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, no operator’s license and no insurance. He was booked at the Wayne County jail on a 24-hour hold.

A 13-year-old juvenile male sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 2:05 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, on Highway V, five miles north of Naylor in Butler County.

According to the report, a 15-year-old juvenile male was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound when it traveled off the roadway, through a fence and struck a tree.

A 13-year-old juvenile male passenger in the vehicle was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Two people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 6:40 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, on Highway 142, two miles south of Poplar Bluff.

According to the report, Derek R. Bunyard, 38, of Fairdealing was operating a 2010 Ford F-150 northbound when it failed to yield to a northbound 2016 Ford F-350 operated by Zackary C. Wheeler, 29, of Alton, Missouri, striking Wheeler’s vehicle in the rear.

Wheeler was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, while Bunyard was transported by private conveyance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
