The Bluff City Eagles 3730 Aerie and Auxiliary celebrated their 45 years together by sharing donations to a variety of charities at a banquet Saturday night on South Broadway. Grand Aerie trustees John Boyd of Cape Girardeau, Annie Taylor of St. Mary’s, Georgia and Peter Ackers of Folsom, California, thanked the local Aerie and Auxiliary for being “people helping people” as well as their “efforts and dedication.”...

The Bluff City Eagles 3730 Aerie and Auxiliary celebrated their 45 years together by sharing donations to a variety of charities at a banquet Saturday night on South Broadway.

Grand Aerie trustees John Boyd of Cape Girardeau, Annie Taylor of St. Mary’s, Georgia and Peter Ackers of Folsom, California, thanked the local Aerie and Auxiliary for being “people helping people” as well as their “efforts and dedication.”

The Aerie donations ranged from $500 to $1,000, totaling $9,600.

The recipients were Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, Three Rivers Shriner’s Clowns, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, United Cancer Assistance Network, Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Club of Poplar Bluff, Shop with a Hero Program, Edgewood Home, St. Vincent DePaul Food Bank, Butler County Fire Department, Poplar Bluff Girl Mules Softball team, FOE Memorial Foundation, FOE Charity Foundation Children’s Fund, John J. Pershing VA Medical Center Care & Share, Bar-H Ranch, FOE Charity Foundation Missouri State President’s Project.

Auxiliary donations ranged from $500 for $2,000 totaling $12,000.

Receiving these donations were Northside Nutrition Center – Meals on Wheels, University Extension Center Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, Child Concern of Poplar Bluff, Williamsville Volunteer Fire Department, SEMO Honor Guard, Poplar Bluff Fire Department “Smoke House,” CASA program, Butler County Community Resource Council’s “Read from the Start” program, John J. Pershing VA Medical Center Care and Share, Special Needs Christmas Party, Wake Foundation, The Bread Shed, FOE Charity Foundation Missouri State President’s Project, Sierra Osage Center, Great Circle, Eagles Memorial Foundation, Eagle Village, St. Francis Cancer Foundation and Butler/Ripley County Foster Children Christmas.

Other donations brought the total to more than $34,000.

The guests were welcome by local officers, Michael Bishop, Aerie president, and Ruth Davis, Auxiliary president.

State officers present were President Bernard Riley of Maryville and President Penny Morgan of Pacific, along with South Central Regional President Pam Boyd of Cape Girardeau.
