Karen Ann Moon-Soens, 67, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Karen was born Aug. 5, 1954 in Tampa, Florida, to Charles E. Sr. and Nell V. Moon. Karen Ann Moon-Soens, 67, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Karen was born Aug. 5, 1954 in Tampa, Florida, to Charles E. Sr. and Nell V. Moon.

She served in the United States Army, Missouri Army National Guard. She loved cooking, camping, quilting with the First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff quilters.

She also enjoyed delivering meals to senior citizens in Lyndon Station/Mauston, Wisconsin.

She was born in a military family and was proud of it.

She is survived by her husband, Russell Soens, of 36 years of Lyndon Station. Also surviving are two sons, Dustan Crider (Mary) and Patrick Moore II (P.J.), both of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; her mother, Nell V. Moon of Poplar Bluff; sister, Donna Moore and husband, Rick, of Doniphan; brother, John (Ceceli) Moon of Poplar Bluff; sister-in-law: Diane Moon of Hamptonville, North Carolina; one brother-in-law: Paul Hill, of Alabama; four grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and great-nieces.

She was preceded in death by her son, Karl J. Moore; father, Charles E. Moon Sr.; sister, Wanda Hill; brother, Charles E. Moon Jr.; nephew, Treason D. Moon; and in-laws, Gladys and Robert Soens.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who knew her and met through the cancer foundations in Wisconsin and Missouri.

Karen fought a hard battle but stayed strong all the way to the end.

Karen will be laid to rest in the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery with full military honors on Friday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m.
