James Dee Donaldson, 77, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
James was born April 23, 1944, to William and Dorothy (Starky) Donaldson in Hornsby, Tennessee. He married Mary Woolard-Waller Feb. 14, 2014, at Green Forest Church of Christ in Poplar Bluff.
James was a member of the Unites States Army and served from 1961-1964. James was also a passionate member of the masonic fraternity and was a current member of the Poplar Bluff Masonic Lodge #209. He had previously served as a district grand lecturer in the St. Louis area. James was a member of the Green Forest Church of Christ. James loved working on cars and previously owned and operated his own auto body repair shop. After he retired from the auto body repair industry, he owned Jim’s Automotive Paint store where he enjoyed mixing, matching, and selling the different paints. In his later years, James enjoyed woodworking, and spending time with his high school sweetheart that later became his wife.
James is survived by his wife, Mary; two children, Jamie (Scott) Hansen and James Dee Donaldson Jr.; two grandchildren, Chase and Keenan Donaldson; one brother, Bruce (Vi) Donaldson; two sisters, Barbra Shultz and Deborah Woodward.
James was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe, Ben, and Bobby; three sisters, Jane, Bennie, and Dottie.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov.24, 2021, at Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services followed by funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. with officiating by Pastor Adam Noles. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with full military honors.
