Butler County Collector Emily Parks said Tuesday residents of the county should expect to see their annual personal property and real estate tax statements in the mail soon.

“Ours were mailed last week and should be hitting mailboxes starting Tuesday,” Parks said.

If residents have not received their tax statements by Friday, parks said, they should call her office at 573-686-8088 to check on them.

“It could mean they didn’t turn in an assessment form, so we had nothing to send them, those types of things,” Parks said.

For those paying in person, Parks said, the collector’s office is open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The office also will be open on Dec. 31, the due date for timely payments.

“We will be open on Friday, Dec. 31,” Parks said. “The courthouse itself is closed that day because that is the holiday, but the county collector’s office as well as the assessor’s office will be open that day.”

Both offices will be open regular hours on Dec. 31.

Residents also have the option to download statements and pay online at the county’s website, www.butlercountymo.com.

“They can get their tax statements and pay online there,” Parks said.

There also is a drop box on the east side of the Butler County Courthouse, near the door, where payments can be made, or residents can mail them to the collector’s office at 100 N. Main St., Room 105, Poplar Bluff, Mo., 63901. Mailed payments must be postmarked by Dec. 31.
