Richard Carl Kearbey, 76, of Poplar Bluff, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021, at his home.

Richard was born on April 3, 1945, to Thomas and Leona (Hendrickson) Kearbey in Butler County, Missouri.

Richard was a member of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Richard was a motorcycle enthusiast.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Kellie Fichter, and son-in-law, Todd of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Barbara Beaty of Poplar Bluff; former spouse and close friend, Carolyn Kearbey of Poplar Bluff; two grandsons, Seth Fichter and Sid Fichter, both of San Antonio, Texas; 18 nieces and nephews, and two canine companions, Blackie and Brownie.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas “Tommy” Kearbey and James “Jimmy” Kearbey; two sisters, Mildred Dell and Mattie Bell Aldridge.

A public memorial service will be held at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery at 1 p,m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021.
