Monica Demitta Jo Benson, 57, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Oct. 20, 2021 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Monica was born Nov. 4, 1963 to James Miller and Helen Ellis in Poplar Bluff. She married Bruce Benson Feb. 23, 1998. He preceded her in death.
Monica attended Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church; enjoyed her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed people in general and she liked to work. She had a 30-year career with Wal-Mart Supercenter in Poplar Bluff.
Monica is survived by her children; Moenika Ellis, Kevin Surratt, Tameika Benson; 14 grandchildren; mother: Helen Ellis, siblings; John Ellis, Pamela Hubrins, Kevin Ellis; the Benson family who were always there for her.
Monica was preceded in death by her father and husband.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will begin at noon with Rev. Anthony Williams officiating. Burial will take place at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
