Donald “Donnie” Gene Faughn Sr., 75, of California, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Donald “Donnie” Gene Faughn Sr., 75, of California, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Sept. 2, 1946 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri; a son of the late Ruben and Alma (Prenzel) Faughn. Donnie was united in marriage on April 27, 1991 to Sherry Hitz in Jefferson City.

He was a 1964 graduate of Poplar Bluff High School. He served in the United States Army and Missouri National Guard for a combined 39 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 2693, American Legion Riders and the Navy Club.

Donnie was a devoted Papa and supported his grandchildren in all of their many activities. He enjoyed outdoor activities including, riding his motorcycle, camping, floating and mowing the lawn. Most of all he loved his family and treasured times making memories with them.

Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sherry Faughn; children, Donald Gene Faughn Jr. (Rose) of Pure Point, Missouri, Todd Lee Faughn of Perryville, Missouri, Brint Roush of California, Missouri, Tina Roush (Travis) of California, Missouri; siblings, Dennis Faughn (Faye) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Francis Marie Lepper of Duncan, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Andrea, Clyde and Cade Knipp, Joby and Brandon Faughn; beloved cousin, Judy Wilcutt of Poplar Bluff; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Faughn.

Family and friends will be received from 4 p.m. - 8:p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors.

Funeral Service will be on at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors with Chaplain Charlie Linquist officiating. Interment will follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens with full military honors.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to American Legion Fallen Riders Scholarship.
