Rodgers Theatre, Inc. is holding its fifth annual Restore the Rodgers Banquet at the Black River Coliseum from 6-10 p.m. Thursday. This year’s theme is Black and White Masquerade, and attendees are encouraged to dress their best.
The evening will begin with a social hour from 6-7 p.m., beverages courtesy of Wil Fischer Distributing of Poplar Bluff, followed by dinner from Tasteful Creations and entertainment by singer and guitarist Maggie Thorn, as well as singer Erin Edington accompanied by musician Kathy Gibbs. There will also be silent and live auctions overseen by Col. Felix Baker.
“This’ll be the eighth year he’s donated his services,” said Rodgers Theatre board president Wally Duncan.
Guests can also take home door prizes and raffle items donated by area businesses.
Businesses and individuals are invited to support the theater by sponsoring a table.
“We have several individuals and businesses who are sponsoring tables. I think we have 25 table sponsors,” Duncan noted.
The Rodgers Theatre board is looking forward to updating its supporters on the progress made in restoring the historic theater. The building’s tower was fixed this past year, and preparations are underway to begin work on the damaged marquee.
“It’ll be an evening of fun, some entertainment, good food, a report of the progress we’ve made on the Rodgers … and generally a good time,” said Duncan.
Tickets are available for $30 each at the Greater Poplar Bluff Area Chamber of Commerce, the office of Duncan & Thomas LLC, Attorneys at Law, and online at eventbrite.com. Potential table sponsors should also visit eventbrite.com or call 573-326-4131 for more information. Details about the event can be found at www.rodgerstheatre.org.
