Robert Eugene Anthony, 50, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away early Monday, Oct. 11, 2021.

Robert was born on Sept. 2, 1971. He at age 26 adopted a child (Brannon Anthony) with his first wife LaVonda “Lynn” Case; he then married the love of his life, Rena Anthony and after her passing, married Missy (Dougherty) Anthony.

Robert was a retired river boat captain for Ingram Barge, where he was employed for 27 years. Robert and his wife Missy opened My Brother’s Bar & Grill in August 2019. Robert was such a kind hearted person and would do anything to help someone in need.

Robert is survived by his current wife, Missy; his mother, Lois Anthony-Van Kirk, two sisters and brother, Cindy Anthony-Sturgeon, Tina Anthony and Frank Anthony Jr.; and four sons, Daniel Mills, Jesse Bunch, Brandon Bunch and Brannon Anthony. Along side three stepsons, Dustin Morse, Colby Ross, and Austin Ross.

Robert was preceded by his second wife, Rena Anthony, and his father, Frank E. Anthony Sr.

Robert will be loved and missed dearly by everyone he encountered along his eventful journey. Many of his affiliates have mentioned this for closure, “he’s with Rena now, you can feel his soul smile.” Until next time, Capitan.

We will be having a celebration of life from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the American Legion in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
