FISK, Mo. — William “Bill” O. Crawford Jr., 78, of Wappapello, Missouri, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021 at his residence in Wappapello. Mr. Crawford was born Jan. 14, 1943 in Puxico, Missouri, son of the late William O. Sr and Leona Dell Crawford. Bill served in the Navy for four years, and was a member of the VFW Post 7822 in Puxico. He was also a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and attended regularly as long as his health allowed...

FISK, Mo. — William “Bill” O. Crawford Jr., 78, of Wappapello, Missouri, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021 at his residence in Wappapello.

Mr. Crawford was born Jan. 14, 1943 in Puxico, Missouri, son of the late William O. Sr and Leona Dell Crawford. Bill served in the Navy for four years, and was a member of the VFW Post 7822 in Puxico. He was also a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and attended regularly as long as his health allowed.

On Aug. 18, 1962 he married Barbara Ellen Landers. They spent the last nine years traveling all over the United States in their R.V., meeting new people and making friends all over the country. Lifelong friendships were also formed from his time as a licensed general Ham Radio operator, where he used the handle “KC∅OTL.” Bill was loved by everyone who knew him and he never met a stranger. He was also an ordained licensed minister with World Christianship Ministries.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Barbara Crawford; three children: Harmony Lynn (Julian) Turner of Saint Charles, Missouri, William O. (Melissa) Crawford, III of Wappapello, and Theresa (Merrill) Evans of Dagsboro, Delaware; 10 grandchildren: Heather (Jon), V.J. ( Shelby), Doug(Tanya), Stacey (Rob), Felicia, Tristan, Landon, Hanna, Joseph, and Jakob, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one brother: Charles Crawford 8, 2021 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk.

Visitation will be from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. with a celebration of life ceremony at 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield with Pastor Kolby Beem officiating. Burial will be at Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
