Firefighters responded to a call of an unauthorized burn at 9:24 a.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at the 2005 Alice Street home owned by Thomas Neal. Firefighters spoke with Neal, who put out the fire.
County firefighters responded to a call at 10:03 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, of a car fire on County Road 543. They found an unoccupied car on fire in the middle of the road. It was totaled.
Joshua W. Mullins, 38, of Fredericktown was arrested at 4:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, on suspicion of felony driving while revoked and first-degree tampering with a vehicle. He was booked at the Wayne County jail on a 24-hour hold.

Frederick W. Lawson, 59, of Holts Summit, Missouri was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, in Carter County on suspicion of DWI (chronic offender) and failing to place a vehicle not in motion as near the right-hand side of the highway as practicable. He was cited and released.
