After a year break, the Patron of the Arts will be back with a new season.
The organization took a break last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and while the Tinnin Fine Arts Center theater underwent renovations.
The 2021-22 season will not only include the new theater but also several acts that haven’t been part of the line-up before.
Patrons will also partner with the Rodgers Theatre for three shows again this year.
Robert Abney, Tinnin center director, said he’s excited to get an audience in the new theater.
“It’ll be nice to get people back in there,” he said.
COVID-19 is still affecting the season as some of the regular performances aren’t touring at the moment. For instance, The Moscow Ballet won’t be returning for “The Nutcracker.”
Abney said it proved to be a challenge to find performances this year.
“We got a few more singing groups and things like that, that we normally wouldn’t have gotten,” he said. “I like to have the diversity and something different.”
Kicking off the season of patrons shows is Jeff and Sheri Easter who will perform country/bluegrass gospel music on Sept. 16. The show will be at the Tinnin theater.
The Atlantic City Boys, who perform rock-n-roll from the 50s to present day, will be at the Tinnin theater on Oct. 4.
Brazilian All Stars, who perform Brazilian music, will be at the Tinnin theater on Oct. 26.
The Rodgers will host The Isaacs, a family gospel group, on Dec. 3.
“A Christmas Carol” will be performed at the Tinnin theater Dec. 7.
The group Tango Argentina will tango into the Tinnin theater on Feb. 3.
Cornet Shop Suey will bring the sounds of New Orleans to the Tinnin theater on Feb. 11.
Bluegrass/country duo Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent will be at the Rodgers on March 20.
Alvin Youngblood Hart will return to the patrons’ lineup for a March 24 show at the Tinnin theater.
“An Unforgettable Century: A Nat King Cole tribute with Joe Bourne” will come to the Tinnin theater on April 7.
Rounding out the season is Rhonda Vincent, returning to the Rodgers on April 8.
