Jerry Lee Sitzes 81, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021, at Cox South Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri.
Mr. Sitzes was born March 31, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, son of the late Wylie and Edna Sitzes.
He was a truck driver for many years, and worked as long as he was physically able. Jerry was a fun-loving guy who will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by eight children: Amanda Sitzes of Ozark, Missouri, Jennifer Sitzes and Jeri Sue Sitzes, both of Springfield, Missouri, Rebekah Sitzes-Graham, and husband Timothy of Nixa, Missouri, Teressa Mayfield, Cheryl Pruitt, and Gerald Sitzes, all of Jackson, Missouri and Joseph Sitzes of Girardeau, Missouri; two grandchildren: Sierra Sitzes and Brenden Diaz; eight additional grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, and three sisters: Jo Ellen King of Washington, Nancy Stovall of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Judith Garnet Frazer of Illinois.
He was also preceded in death by one brother: Larry Sitzes. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 at Poplar Bluff City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
