POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT
Jeremy Kyle Pickards, 36, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:05 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, in the 300 block of South Westwood Boulevard, on a Butler County felony warrant for second-degree property damage and on suspicion of resisting arrest. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Kevin M. Nunnery, 36, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:46 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, in the 1400 block of North Westwood Boulevard on a warrant for probation violation on the original charge of stealing. He was booked into the Butler County jail.

Ronald Dean Ward, 36, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:36 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, on a Butler County warrant for a probation violation. He was booked into the Butler County jail.
POPLAR BLUFF FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 2307 Fair St. at 2.21 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, to an outside rubbish and grass fire, which had almost reached part of a fence of an abandoned house. Firefighters used a booster line and 75 gallons of water to out the fire.

Firefighters responded at 2:21 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, to a malfunctioning alarm system at the Westover Building, 2080 Three Rivers Blvd. Firefighters made contact with the maintenance person, who told them the alarm was on the third floor. They went to the area to make sure there was no fire, and after confirming the alarm was malfunctioning, it was taken out of service. The alarm is to be repaired before being put back into service.

Firefighters responded to 2000 Fair St. at 2:53 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, but no fire was found.

Firefighters responded to a motor vehicle fire at 1010 Fairmount St. at 3:51 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15. The passenger car was fully involved. They used a booster line and 200 gallons of water to extinguished the fire. They continued to put water on the blue Dodge Charger, driven by Martrez Carter of 1010 Fairmount St., until the hot areas were cooled down.

Firefighters responded to 1929 N. Fifth St. to an authorized controlled burn at 1:45 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16. Upon arrival, firefighters located a crew cleaning a lot behind the address. The crew was burning leaves and tree limb and stayed with the fire until it had extinguished before dark.

Firefighters responded to an authorized controlled burn at 610 Davis at 4:32 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, where residents were burning a pile of leaves.

Firefighters responded to 1704 Sylvan Drive at 7:23 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, to a possible stove fire. When firefighters arrived, nothing was showing. They made contact with the occupant, Rose Brown, who showed them the stove. The element inside the oven was shorting. Power was disconnected and Brown was advised to have the oven repaired.
