Pressley “Ray” Johnson, 66, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at his home.
Ray was born March 10, 1955, to Kenneth and Annabelle (Lampston) Johnson in Williamsville, Missouri. He met his life partner of over 15 years, Vickie Risinger in Poplar Bluff.
Ray was a believer of Christ. He loved anything outdoors; hunting and fishing were some of his favorite things to do in his spare time. He enjoyed shooting pool in the shop with his son. Ray would take the shirt off his back for anyone; he was truly a helper to anyone who needed it. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandbabies.
Ray is survived by his wife, Vickie Risinger; one son, Greg “The Boy” Gamblin and wife Sarah; four sisters, Judy (Mike) Deason, Penny Brawley, Jeannie (Todd) Kearbey, Velma (Albert) Blackmon; two brothers, Don Ward and Mike Ward; five granddaughters, Hailey, Peyton, Leah, Bridget, and Autumn; one great-grandson, Gage-Lee.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Louise Bradish, Shirley Keane, Dorothy Carter, and Carolyn Ward; two brothers, Kenneth Johnson Jr., and Edward Ward.
Grave side service and burial will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 at Rombauer Cemetery with full military honors.
After the service, a celebration of life will be held at Johnson’s home.
