Carol Sue (Colter) Keeney was born on September 18, 1941 in Qulin, Missouri. She passed from this life surrounded by her loving family on August 8, 2021 at her home in Van Buren.
Carol had worked at Paramount Cap Factory from 1977 until her retirement in 1998. After retirement, she went to work at the Butler County Home Health in 2001.
Carol was united in marriage to Jim Keeney in July of 1957. From this union, four handsome sons were born Ronnie, Mark, Jimmie Dale and Bryan. She loved spending time with her family.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Lorraine Colter and Daphine McGhee (Mack); brothers Dale Colter (Gail) and David Colter; sister Imogene Clark (Jack); two sons, Jimmie Dale and Bryan.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie (Kim) of Van Buren, Mark (Caren) of Van Buren; five sisters, Linda Faust, Kathy Gibbs (Terry), Karen Rodery (Rick), Elaine Lannon (Lanny) and Jo Ann Pierce (Dennis); three brothers, Alan Colter, Gary Colter (Debbie) and Jeff McGhee; special friend, Cathy Alfred; nine grandchildren, Clint Keeney, Amanda Wright (Nathan), Carrie Halford (Matthew), Megan Keeney (Matthew), Curtis Keeney (Hailey), Jerrica Root (Joshua), JR Keeney, Chelsea Keeney and Emily Keeney; nine great-grandchildren, Andrew Wright, Aaron Halford, Jude Wright, Grady Davis, Rylann Davis, Freya Root, Jackson Keeney, Bryer Keeney and Sam Payne.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 10 from 6-8 p.m. at McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren with the funeral services being held on Wednesday, August 11 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Garry Reagan will be officiating. Burial will be in the Van Buren City Cemetery. In lieu of memorial contributions may be made to the Carter County Nutrition Center: P.O.
