Three people were injured, two seriously, in accidents in Ripley and Wayne counties Tuesday.
The first accident occurred at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday on Highway E, 1-1/2 miles east of Greenville. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Robert R. Dodd, 59, of Garland, Texas, was operating a 2011 International Pro Star westbound on Highway E when it ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a tree and culvert and overturned.
Dodd sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He later was arrested at 5:11 p.m. on suspicion of DWI and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway. He was released.
Later that evening, two Arkansas men were injured when their motorcycles ran off the road and overturned on Highway 142 in Oxly.
According to the MSHP, Elijah D. Tittle, 26, of Paragould, Arkansas, was riding a 2003 Honda CBR600 eastbound on Highway 142 when his motorcycle ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned. Meanwhile, Brandon L. Adams, 33, also of Paragould, was riding a 2004 Kawasaki Ninja eastbound on Highway 142 when the motorcycle ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a road sign and overturned.
Tittle sustained serious injuries and was flown by Air Evac to Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, Tennessee, while Adams sustained moderate injuries and was flown by Air Evac to St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
