A Poplar Bluff man is facing charges of delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon after a search of his residence reportedly turned up several ounces of marijuana and two firearms.
Dester L. Moore Jr., 32, of the 100 block of Midland Street is charged with the Class C felony of delivery of a controlled substance and also is facing two Class E felony charges for unlawful use of a weapon.
According to the probable cause statement by Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force Officer Benjamin Chamblin, he and Butler County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Moore’s residence in the 100 block of Midland Street at approximately 4:34 p.m. Wednesday, June 30.
Chamblin reportedly had been informed by a confidential source that there was a large amount of traffic at the residence and an odor of marijuana. Moore also had an outstanding warrant for second-degree domestic assault.
During a search of Moore’s residence, Chamblin and the deputies reportedly found approximately 165 grams of marijuana, plus approximately 15 grams of marijuana vape cartridges, an AR-15 rifle and a 9mm handgun.
Moore is being held at the Butler County jail on $50,000 bond.
