Two area residents will take on new assignments in August with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Elijah N. Stinson of Poplar Bluff and Kenneth H. Hall of Ellsinore will graduate July 23 with the 111th MSHP Recruit Class.

They will both start new assignments Aug. 9 with other graduates from the class.

Stinson is one of three new troopers to be assigned to Troop B. He will be stationed in Zone 3, covering Linn and Chariton counties.

Hall has been stationed in his home area, Troop G. He will be assigned to Zone 8, covering Carter and Reynolds counties. He is the only new trooper assigned to Troop G from this class.

Troop E will also receive three new troopers from this class. James E. Williams of Charleston will be assigned to Zone 6, in Scott, Mississippi and New Madrid counties. David L. McKnight of Sikeston will be assigned Zone 7, in Scott, Mississippi and New Madrid counties. Roberto C. Rodriguez Penaflor of Senath will be assigned to Zone 11, in Stoddard County.

The class includes 29 graduates. The graduation ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. and take place on the South Lawn of the Missouri State Capitol. It will be live-streamed on the patrol’s YouTube channel via this link https://youtu.be/qcwnrezjtlc. The 111th Recruit Class reported to the academy on Feb. 1, to begin the 25-week training to become a trooper, the MSHP reports.

The recruits accumulate points toward graduation in the categories of physical fitness, firearms and academics.
