Seven area residents were injured, three seriously, in a trio of accidents Monday and Tuesday on area highways.

The first accident happened Monday morning, when a 20-year-old Poplar Bluff man suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 8 a.m. in Stoddard County on Highway C, two miles west of Advance.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Travis L. Fox, 20, of Poplar Bluff was operating a 2017 Honda CBR300 eastbound on Highway C when it ran off the right side of the road and overturned, ejecting him. He was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Three people were injured, one seriously, in a two-vehicle accident at 10 p.m. Monday in Qulin at the intersection of Highway 53 and Highway N.

According to the report, Garrett L. McLane, 27, of Campbell was operating a 2020 Dodge Challenger southbound when it crossed the center line and traveled into the path of a 2014 Dodge Charger operated by Cayton E. Sloan, 19, of Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Sloan and a passenger in her vehicle, Joshua C. Lewis, 19, of Hayti, both suffered minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

A passenger in McLane’s vehicle, Ericka M. Ousley, 24, of Piedmont suffered serious injuries and was taken by Air Medical to Saint Francis Medical Center.

Two juveniles were seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday in Stoddard County at the intersection of county roads 442 and 449, five miles north of Dexter.

According to the report, Joshua L. Phillips, 19, Dexter was operating a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer westbound when it failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a fence and ditch.

Two passengers in the Blazer, a 13-year-old female juvenile and a 14-year-old juvenile, were ejected in the accident and suffered serious injuries. They were both transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
