James Leamon Robertson, 71, of Poplar Bluff, passed away July 4, 2021, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
James was born July 3, 1950, to Leoler and Christine (McBride) Robertson.
James was the President and Owner of Joe’s Bridge and Grading Inc.
James was a member at the Southside Assembly of God Church in Poplar Bluff. He enjoyed many things from hunting, fishing, nature and the outdoors, to building bridges. He also enjoyed music and singing. James never met a stranger. He loved people and he loved helping any and everyone. He was unique in that he always remembered names and if he met you once, you can bet he would remember you later.
James is survived by seven children, Terri LaDawn (Gary) Barnes of Dexter, Christine (Richard) Bloyd of Anderson, Indiana, James L. (Cindy) Robertson of Poplar Bluff, Gina (Jeff) Farmer of Dexter, Jimmy Dean Ritsema of DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, Chastity Robertson of Poplar Bluff and Rocky (Karen) Robertson of Poplar Bluff; his former wife, Rosie Barks Robertson; two siblings, Tommy Robertson of Poplar Bluff and Bonnie (Bob) Fletcher of Midlothian, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 8 from 5-9 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will be Friday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Don LaBrot officiating, assisted by Rev. Brandon Spain. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
