CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Saint Francis Healthcare System has welcomed Fr. Jaku Bala Kumar to the position of Chaplain for the medical center. Kumar is responsible for leading Mass and providing pastoral services to patients and their families.
Kumar was born in Proddatur, India, on Aug. 20, 1982. He was ordained to the priesthood on April 19, 2012.
Kumar attended St. John’s Major Seminary in Kurnool, India, where he graduated with a degree in philosophy. He also attended St. Joseph’s Major Seminary in Khammam, India, where he received a degree in theology.
Kumar serves as chaplain for Saint Francis Medical Center, as well as associate pastor at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Cape Girardeau.
