Poplar Bluff’s Parks and Recreation Department board of directors reorganized during a special meeting Thursday, electing new officers for the coming year.
The election was the only item on the meeting agenda, with members Eric Schalk, Steve Hicks, Dale Dickerson, Terry Mizell, Paul McVey, Quentin Morrow, John Scott and Mitchell Davis on hand. Board member Matt Schindler was not present.
Scott made a motion to nominate Mizell as the next board president, replacing Schalk in that position.
“He’s been here a long time,” Scott said of Mizell.
He also nominated Davis as vice president and Morrow as secretary/treasurer.
The motion was seconded by Dickerson.
All members voted yes, with no opposition.
Mizell currently is in his 15th year on the board and previously has served as president, vice president and secretary/treasurer.
Davis has served five years on the board, and this is his first term as an officer.
Likewise, Morrow, who is in his second year on the board, will serve his first term as an officer.
