Thelma Woolem, 87, of Fisk, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021
Thelma, the daughter of Alford and Gertie Chilton was born October 30, 1933. Thelma was married to the late Chet Woolem, together they celebrated 56 years of marriage and to this union they had four children.
Thelma was a member of The House of Prayer Church where she attended until her health prevented her from attending. Thelma was a cook with the Twin Rivers School District at the Fisk campus, where she retired and enjoyed her years as a homemaker. Thelma enjoyed spending time with her grandson Robbie, playing games, fishing or cooking his favorite meal. Thelma was delighted to spend time with her great-granchildren, Elsie and Emmit. They enjoyed playing ball, painting nails and most of all grandma’s cookies. Thelma loved visiting with her family and friends.
Thelma is survived by daughter, Diane Riggins; three sons, Dwight (Shirley) Woolem, Denny (Dodie) Woolem and David Woolem; one grandson, the twinkle of her eye, Robbie (Monica) Woolem and great-grandchildren, Elsie and Emmit Woolem; three granddaughters, Carmen, Stacia, Sarah; many nieces and nephews, special nieces, Terry and Tammy.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son in-law, Jim Riggins; one brother, Bud Chilton; three sisters, Laurie Hicks, Sis Hicks and Nellie Mosier.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6 with funeral services starting at noon with Johnny Sprous officiating at Willow Ridge Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
