POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT
A traffic stop shortly after noon Monday, June 21, netted the warrant arrest of Randall Justin Hood, 31, of the 1000 block of Lela and took suspected drugs, including alleged heroin, off the streets.
A Poplar Bluff police patrolman observed a blue Buick sedan on 11th street and Marylane Drive failing to maintain a single lane as it traveled north.
The officer stopped the vehicle at 11th and Poplar streets. After talking with the driver, the patrolman asked the passenger’s name, who twice gave the wrong name. Hood, who the officer recognized, had an outstanding warrant. After arresting him and reading him his rights, Hood admitted when questioned to having drugs in the car’s glove box.
Recovered were 21.5 grams of suspected Xanax tablets, 6.9 grams of pink capsules stamped dormin, two bags containing a total 10.6 grams of a red/brown powder of suspected heroin and two bags containing a total of 2.8 grams of a white crystalline substance.
Hood was booked into the Butler County jail on a failure to appear warrant for the fraudulent use of a credit/debit device, resisting arrest/interfering with arrest and suspicion of delivering a controlled substance. The report has been forwarded to the Butler County Prosecuting attorney.
