Camp Latonka deadline is Sunday

Friday, June 11, 2021

The registration deadline for camping sessions for Camp Latonka is Sunday. Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland is expanding its in-person summer camp capacity to allow additional girls to sleep in tents this year.

Due to an influx of attendees for summer camp, organizers have added the ability for residents to camp in tents. This allows more girls to experience the summer feelings of freedom, excitement and possibility one can only get at camp, they said.

At summer camp, the scout is in charge of her own adventure and every moment is packed with fun, camp organizers said. They believe tent dwelling will provide campers with an engaging outdoor experience guaranteed to be filled with countless adventures.

Camping opportunities include:

Week One: June 20-21: Space Adventurers, kindergarten-third grades; June 20-25: Mad Scientists second-fifth grades; Can We Build It? fourth-eighth grades; Tree Dwellers: Alien Encounters, sixth -12th grades; and June 23-25, grades second-third grades.
