Marilyn Harris, 74, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away Thursday May 27, 2021 at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
Marilyn was born April 8, 1947 to Herbert and Veda Lamkin in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
After marriage to William Harris, Marilyn became a homemaker with two kids and helped her husband in his business. Later, she joined Motorola with her daughter and had one of the best times of her life.
Marilyn attended Gateway church in Southlake, Texas where she was also a member. Marilyn was very active in the church with small group activities and served on the greeting team. Marilyn loved to travel. She traveled most of the word including Europe, China, Isreal, Jordon, Japan, Hawaii, Caribbean, South Pacific, Bora Bora,Tahiti, South America, Mexico and Canada.
Marilyn is survived by two sisters, Teresa Lamkin, Gail Lamkin; one brother, Kenneth Lamkin (Victoria); as well as their children, spouses and grandchildren. Daughter, Linda and son-in-law, Jesse Acosta survive as well as their dog, Penny Savannah, TBBM, who was devoted and watched over Marilyn in difficult days.
Marilyn is preceded in death by both parents, Herbert and Veda Lamkin; husband, Wiliam Merl Harris and one daughter, Angela Ruark. A grandson, Jacob Ruark survives.
The church family and the Lord God the father and son Jesus Christ, her savior also survive her.
Visitation will be Friday, June 4 from 1 p.m. until time of service at Cotrell Funeral Service. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sparkman Cemetery.
