Nira Joyce McNeely, 87, of Poplar Bluff passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, at her residence.
Nira was born August 31, 1933, in Poplar Bluff to Charles and Janie Owens. She and Charles ‘Chuck’ McNeely were married June 8, 1952, at Second Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff. He survives.
Nira was a member of First Baptist Church of Poplar Bluff.
Nira enjoyed china painting, classical music, traveling, shopping, Broadway musicals and spending time with her husband.
In addition to her husband of 68 years, Nira is survived by two daughters, Angela Bomer of Poplar Bluff and Mitzi (Richard) Richter of Jackson; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Casey or Poplar Bluff and a great-grandson, Ben Casey of Poplar Bluff.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 3 from noon until time of service at Willow Ridge Funeral and Cremation Center. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral with Rev. Brandon Spain officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
