Absent from the body, present with the Lord. Arthur C. Richardson departed this life on May 15, 2021. He was born on April 29, 1931 in Damascus, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Joan Richardson and his three children, Arthur Jr. of Virginia, Tommy of Tennessee and Robin of Tennessee along with three stepchildren. Arthur has four brothers and two sisters along with a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren...

Arthur C. Richardson departed this life on May 15, 2021. He was born on April 29, 1931 in Damascus, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Joan Richardson and his three children, Arthur Jr. of Virginia, Tommy of Tennessee and Robin of Tennessee along with three stepchildren. Arthur has four brothers and two sisters along with a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Arthur is preceded in death by a daughter, Vivian and two sisters and two brothers.

Arthur served 12 years in the U.S. Army; he was a Korean Veteran. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal for service about and beyond the call of duty, Infantry badge, Good Conduct medal, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and Korean Service Medal, along with numerous other medals. He was awarded an Honorable discharge.

Arthur attended Living Word Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing and woodworking.

Services will be held at Fowler and Sons of Neelyville. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Living Word Baptist Church’s Awana program.
