She had attained the age of eighty-three years, eight months and thirty days...

Carolyn Ann (Staples) Burrows, daughter of the late John and Marthann (Rice) Staples was born August 9, 1937 in Piggott, Arkansas and departed this life on May 8, 2021 at River Mist Assisted Living in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She had attained the age of eighty-three years, eight months and thirty days.

Carolyn had lived in Van Buren since 1985 and was formerly of Poplar Bluff. She was of the Baptist faith and had attended the Mt. Zion Church of God of Prophecy in Van Buren. She was a Real Estate Broker for the past 30 years and was a former music teacher at Twin Rivers and Van Buren. She enjoyed working and traveling. Carolyn loved living in Van Buren, playing the piano and working with the public. She was strong willed, very prompt, a hard worker and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

On June 10, 1986, she was united in marriage to Jack Burrows in Sevierville, Tennessee.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Jack Burrows of Van Buren, Missouri; her two sons, David Lawrence of Kennett, Missouri and Gaylon Lawrence (Lisa) of Nashville, Tennessee; her daughter, Carrie Burrows of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her brother, John Staples (Monica) of Capistrano Beach, California; her six grandchildren, Drew Lawrence (Sarah) of Wilson, Arkansas, Westin Lawrence of St. Helena, California, Mollie Claire Lawrence of Dallas, Texas, Pia Martin (Alejandro) of San Jose, Costa Rica, Josie Lawrence of Kennett, Missouri and Lauren Conover (Christian) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and many family and friends who mourn her passing.

Visitation was Monday, May 10 in the McSpadden Funeral Home in Van Buren. A graveside service was Tuesday, May 11 in the Poca Hollow/Dry Valley Cemetery in Van Buren with Rev. Steve Voyles officiating.
